Hi,
Just loaded slackware 9 on another box I got hold of...
Anyway, it reboots just after login or just before!
It has:
Slack 9
2.4Ghz Intel P4
512 MB RAM
1 CDROM
2 HDD
1 FLOPPY
1 ZIP
Pls help URGENTLY!!

UPDATE:
Just removed one hdd. Reinstalling to see what happens.

Ok I tried everything, reboot, reinstall, disconnecting spare hdd, disconnecting usb card reader, disconnecting joystick BUT IT STILL REBOOTS JUST NEAR THE LOGIN SCREEN ie JUST BEFORE OR AFTER

Have a look at your BIOS settings, maybe once the processor gets up to a certain (too low) temperature it reboots....
Sounds like a hardware problem, but with stuff that new, I dunno...
Are you going straight to a graphical login? Can you do a text login somehow?

Ok,
With doze 2k, I never had this problem, so that rules out a bios thingy.
I go straight to text mode everytime.
Also, I found if I use single user mode, it doesn't reboot

Hi All,
Just had a brainwave. I'm reinstalling and turning off hotplug support to see what happens.

Hotplug being turned off fixed it. To prove it, I am posting this from the culprit machine.
