hey gang, I'm just wondering if an adapter exists that will do this for me. I've seen adapters that work the oppositve way..I think?... ones that'll connect a serial device (like a PDA) to a USB port on the PC, but are there adapters that'll do the opposite?

I have an infrared receiver for my remote and I need to use LIRC to control it, but LIRC doesn't work with USB receivers as far as I can tell. So I thought maybe I could get an adapter to allow me to connect the receiver to the serial port on the machine?

TIA, Mike

two choices:
1. If it is for a remote control-here is a remote control with the reciever, etc included for a serial port. Supposidly works with LIRC. $10.95, 2 for $14.95.

2. The adapter-numerous places- $24.95 and up:

I hope you haven't neglected Google and waited all this time for an answer. :)
