OS= Mandrake 9.2

Soundcard= M-Audio Revolution 7.1

Soundcard Driver= ICE1724 [Envy24HT]

Sound apps I have tried: KsCD, Totern Media Player, Xmms player

The only music/media player that I have been able to get working somewhat is the Totern Media Player. But when playing from cd the music will skip and voices sound like chipmonks. The other player's above I get no sound or they will not even play the cd. I have tried different cd's but the same thing happens. I went though settings of all the players and still nothing.

Two things we need to know:
1. Which GUI are you using?
2. Do you have a sound cable from the cd player to the sound card.

1. GUI is KDE

2. No cable

With the sound card you cannot hookup a cable to it. From cd drive to soundcard.

In Settings in KDE, open Control Center. Go to Sound, open Sound System. Try checking "Full duplex sound" (I think it's on the second page).
