Deus Ex 2...there is no hope of playing it in penguin mode.

Still waitin for DX 1!!!

*sigh*

I played through the demo, in all honesty it doesn't seem as good as DX1. DX1 is an act that you just don't beat anyway, I don't think HalfLife was as good as DX but that's just me.

DX2 could very well be just as cool, I just wish the storyline wasn't too mysterious. See in Deus Ex the story seemed to very well be unfolding, in DX2 it doesn't feel that way. Not that I know from the full game, but if it the demo was any indication...

In DX1 from the demo you could see the very straightforwardness of the game's story and depth.

You are UNATCO, fight NSF, gets kinda shaky, but hey.
Then you go get the full game, get totally blown away by your change of allegiance, the depth of the conspiracy (MJ12 overthrowing Illuminati) the two AI's duking it out, then the impossible happening. Then the triple ending.

Now, judging from DX2 demo
Quite obviously the ending where Area 51 was destroyed occurred. There are these factions, but you have no allegiance, and you know it's a huge conspiracy from the get go.

At least you're a denton, but the whole thing about other "bio-modded humans" takes away the deus ex. In DX1, you end up being THE deus ex, not just one of them (JC was confirmed to be the most powerful out of the 3). Deus ex, after all, means god machine.

However, having Alexander Brandon on for the music was a wonderful idea. Just listen....

DX1 port was completed buy one of the guys at Loki Games in about 2 weeks after getting the source...because licensing issues pushed the release back past the point when Loki Games went under...which is too bad, that is one of the best games I've played also.

I wouldn't judge DX2 from the demo, remember how much the story changed in DX1 after the demo levels? It went from a bio-war in New York to a global consperisy that had Denton running all over the world!

I have good faith that DX2 will be good also, might not be AS good, but will still be good. I don't think Warren Spector has ever released a bad game!

It was done in either 12 or 24 hours. Whatever it was, they got the source on a Friday and were playing it Monday morning when the rest of the loki staff showed up for work :D

isn't the deus ex 2 engine remotely based on the unreal engine (the incarnation that was used in the ut2003)?

come on, how long does it take them to notice that there are people that like to play games on linux, and that don't have windows.

ah, fvck it, what do I know. as long as doom 3 comes out, i will be happy.
