My dad talked his boss into letting him go through some older computer parts before they threw them out. He came across the answering machine, and to his (and my) surprise it had a 5gig hard drive in it. But it's an IBM Thinkpad laptop hard drive. It has a ribbon cable and all, so I was wondering if I could put it in a desktop system as a second hard drive? Would there be any problems?

you can purchase mounts/converters so that a laptop drive can be used in a desktop... google should point you in the right direction
