Hi, I downloaded Red Hat , burned the 3 disc images and installed on a clean hard drive. (On a newly built machine). After the second disc was installed it said congratulations you have successfully installed Red Hat. What do I do with the third disc? I had a look at the contents but I am no wiser. I can access the internet and have set up an e.mail account (Which is OK as I have tested it). I dont have any sound and I cant figure out how to change my screen resolution as I have a lot of lines flickering across it. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Bill

From what I have seen the third disk has mostly server type apps. So if you installed just a work station you don't really need it. If you installed a web server then you would proably need disc three. Most of the time when I install a machine at work I only need a package or two of the third cd.

To change your video setting try using redhat-config-xfree86 which comes with redhat 9 and maybe 8. If you want help with stuff you need to tell us the version your running and what kind of hardware you have like what kind of sound card you have.
