Well, today i emerged pureftpd, (for those of you who don't know what "emerge" means it's gentoo's package system command). I've used pureftpd with gentoo before and it worked great. I'm a big fan of virtual users so i followed that readme since I don't remember everything from the last time i configured it. Things were looking just fine until I was about to log on to my ftp server. It connects just fine, I can type my password and username, but then this pops up
500 This security scheme is not implemented

After I've typed the username, then when I type my password this comes up:

421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection

The server IS running, the port (21) IS forwarded, I've tried both from the local network and from internet. I've tried with a normal user account and a virtual user account.

Right about now I'm running out of idea's for troubleshooting so I'm hoping some fresh views might help this case :)

I don't remember doing that the last time, and it didn't help this time anyway :p
