I am a linux newb, but I've done my share of reading on this topic. I've got WIndows TTF copied over and seem to work for everything but FireBird. They work in Mozilla browser that came with 9.1 distro.
I read somewhere adding Fontpath to "XF86Config-4" would fix it. Useing mandrake help pages, it showed howto enter this. It turned out bad.
I added " Fontpath /usr/share/local/fonts/ttfonts".
When I restarted, no X :/
Maybe the /usr/.... should have been in "quotes" ?
Anyhow, I got my first experience using "vi" to fix what I had done.
Oh, I've also edited the "unix.js" file in Firebird to show it where my TTF fonts are.
I do see some of my Windows fonts in availible list, but not the standard TTF's (Times New Roman, Ariel, Courier New).
I've seen others say TTF work with Firebird, and it has become my fav browser. Any help getting them to work would be great.
**update - ok, I'm not so bright, I downloaded version that didn't support TTFs. Got the other linux 0.7 and all is very nice.
