kde-task bar doesn't show apps

when i first started up kde, the task bar showed the windows at the bottom of the screen--i could minimize windows, and then they would be at the bottom for me.

then, i started goofing around, and that no longer happens. they're just gone. the only way to get back to them is to alt-tab. i can add in a kasbar extension to the panel, which does what i want, but that adds an entire row and it takes up too much of my desktop. so, how do i make it go back to how it was?

You actually just need to do a tiny bit more fiddling- somewhere in the panel > add menu is a taskbar option. That'll make everything healthy again :)
