Why Does PunkBuster Keep Permanently Banning Me On Quake3 Servers?

or it forces me to go into spectator mode. It just keeps saying its waiting for my PB version to update.

Ive tried to update PB(d/l and installing htm) and have used WEBPB but both dont work.

Probably because the port that it sends and receives on is closed. Check your firewall settings.

What error do you get when you run the pbweb.x86 file?

Sometimes however the server admin on whatever particular server your trying to join hasnt updated their files. When this happens typically you won't be able to authenticate and eventually you'll be kicked / banned.

When admins dont stay currrent it ruins it for everyone else. There is a variable you can use to let the server downgrade your files, but unless you really want to play on that server I wouldnt even bother. Just look for another one.

there is an tech-support article on the AA site regarding this i think u have to chattr the directory that punkbuster uses to write updates too and give it 'w' permission

Yeah, check the permissions on the punkbuster directory.....i had a similar problem with A's Amrmy.
