Not positive but having Microsoft in the name of the adapter just makes me think trouble in linux, could be completely wrong.

just my .02 cents

I know but it is too late to return it now. I know it i based off of Prism2 chips and there is a driver for them but when I tried it before it didn't work and messed up my whole computer.

I did a quick search of the mandrake and RH HCL's and it didn't list your particular adapter but I did find this information by doing a quick G4L search http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Microsoft+Mn+510.+It+is+a+wireless+USB+adapter&btnG=Google+Search
and according to the results you should be able to get it working with mandrake or RH I would go with mandrake 9.2 or RH9 it may take some work but I don't know for sure, it may just work

I hope this helps :D maybe somone around here has your adapter
