No, it's not really. I use a Linux box with 2 network cards as my router / firewall, and I won't voluntarily touch premade routers with a ten-foot pole. My work (the work I did setting this box up) paying off, perhaps?

Yikes.

That's just low.

Looks like I won't be buying Belkin products any time soon, Ah well, in related news, Wal Mart has Blitzz wireless products at a cheap price. For just over $100 US, you can get yourself a Wireless router and a PCI Wireless card. I personally used the Blitzz router, and the Blitzz USB and PCI cards to set up a law office with Wireless connectivity. They were really impressed with how it worked out.

I saw that, too. In the past I've bought Belkin KVM switches, but there's no way I'll purchase another Belkin product now. Security products are supposed to keep out unwanted content, not force it on you!

The only belkin product I've bought is a USB keyboard (quite a nice keyboard for the price, $9.95). I hope it dont start spamming me ;)

Most of the concerns, though, were more along the lines of: "If their routers no longer always route packets properly, what does that say about their firewalls? Are there backdoors in them? Are there other types of vulnerabilities that Belkin knows about but is trying to keep secret?"

I hope, for the sake of all the people that have Belkin firewalls, that those are all just unfounded conspiracy theories, but I fear otherwise...
