Odd.
I posted a lighthearted poll. Uncle Sam vs. Uncle Spam...
Seems to have vanished.
Now, I don't believe that the forums are based in the land of the "Disappeared" (i.e., you're in North America, not South, surely?)
Did I miss something?
trying to find if I'd violated some obscure terms and conditions - having a job to find them, too, which is why I said 'obscure'.
Just call it Old Age.
Anyone found my poll? Polly, polly, where are you, Poll???

At the bottom of every single page on this site, there is a link entitled Legal Notices. It leads to the Acceptable Use Policy (which you also were required to agree to before you joined; surely you read it, correct?).
I'd have a read through that. I didn't see your poll, but if it violated the AUP, I can see why someone would have deleted it.
Also check your PM box, in case someone PM'ed you with the reason.

..I've had a good re-read.
I guess if my poll was deleted, the deleter was less familiar with the AUP than I am again, and probably "thought" they knew what was in it, rather than actually bothering to read and check.
Having said that...
The line...
You will not post messages that are clearly outside of the stated topic of any Forums
.. may have been misinterpreted by the deleter, as the guideline for /dev/random is...
"Got a question about Linux, the community, or technology that does not quite fit in the other channels? Here's the place to ask..."
/dev/random contains off-topic, sometimes irreleveant stuff. So be it.
PM box empty.

Right, and the title of your poll (Uncle Sam vs. Uncle Spam) sounds like it would have put it into this category. Assuming it was actually technology-related, and not just (for example) bashing one political group or another. Not that I think it was, but I can see some of our other former members doing stuff like that, so it's always a (slight) possibility.
It would depend on the wording of the poll, too.
And I don't know what happened to it either. It is possible that it didn't get deleted, but rather somehow never got posted...
Maybe whoever deleted it will read this and PM you, too.
