Yes, I said it. Someone had to. I just got back from seeing it. It had the worst ending since Final Fantasy 7. Two words to describe it

Recycled
Open-Ended

All I have to say is GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I want my money back!

Matrix is supossed to be a Trilogy, isn't it?

It makes you think that that can't be the end...

Have you see the first matrix movie? see the ending where Neo hang up the phone? it is the ending. honest. the whole thing is also related to biblical thing... I wish i can explain but i remember someone explained the whole thing at penny-arcade furom is really interesting dicussion.

I thought it suck, it blew but very interesting anyway when you look very careful with the whole thing.

Second and third movie is where somewhere before Neo hang up the phone.

If you want to know more about it, look up at penny-arcade(hey! i dont meant to adversite but to point out about the interest of what matrix is about).

matrix 1ruled

matrix 2 was also very entertaining

matrix 3 was a little messy and it feels like the directors spent too long on the SFX than on the storyline, otherwize it too would have been very entertaining, it was still a decent film better than half the crap that comes out

I have never liked the sequels to films especialy popular films like the matrix, just cashing in using the reputation of the first film.

I watched the first movie, and it was good. When the second came out I didn't care much. Now that the third is out, I feel way to lazy to go to the movies, hehe.

Better go to amazon.com and order Ghost In The Shell, which is the movie on which the matrix ripped off many of its ideas. For real.

Would you say Lord of the Rings is an exception?

They used computers running linux (that was to keep it related to computers) :D

Lord of the Rings is based on a trilogy of books (i.e. 1=book1 2=book2 3=book3)so I'd say yes - it is an exception.

matrix 3 was frickin awesome, it explained everything from the other 2 and had a very good ending! Read the end of the new testemant and you'll see that all the matrix is is armegeddon...

then can you please explain to me why neo could destroy the sentinals in the real world?
i was tired watching it and must have missed that part (seriously)

I think that it was better than Reloaded, but not as good as the original. For one, I wanted some different answers to questions like "How does Neo control the Sentinels?" rather than "He has a link to the Source." A Matrix-within-a-Matrix would've been much cooler I think. I also thought Trinity's death was a bit pointless, and didn't do anything to the storyline. Ah yes, and the ending needed work.
Still, it was a reasonable movie.

(Should I have put SPOILERS in big letters?)

Anyone mind gicing me some spoilers?

In the end of the first movie it said "System failure" and the matrix just stopped. How could it continue?

A 'On error resume next' from VB in a movie is just too lame for me. Did they do the matrix inside a matrix idea(so theres like a os and all the former ones were in a forked app)? Did they do the Neo is god idea(where Neo is like the reincarnation of the first man to write the matrix, the religous rout i mean..)?

What happened to Trinity?

In the first movie Neo died(from Smith) and then comes back to life, then he is the only person to ever kill a agent, how could the Zion people doubt him? I only saw reloaded once but it seems like they dont even think hes special.

I really preferred Fellowship of the Ring to The Two Towers, from a theatrical perspective. *Ducks and runs for cover* :)

20th century man - "can you please explain how a man could get to the moon?"

21st century man - "can you please explain how movies suck?"

my imagination trying to explain it to you

does your body destroy and create materials continually? does your mind produce chemical reactions and fire nurons(sp?) in your mind? can you not give off background radation from your body? do you not give off heat from your body that is visible in other spectrums? well whats to say that the hardware thats installed through the neck spinal implants doesnt make a hamonious link with his biochemistry and allow a WiFi link in the real world? do the sentinals not communicate through radio/WiFi and not have cables dragging behind them?

use your imagination dude ;)

I don't mind sequels... Hell, I liked every one of the Lethal Weapon series... Terminator 2 kicked butt...

The Matrix, I liked #1... I tried watching 2... it bored me. I don't really care about 3. I guess IMO #1 stood so well on it's own it didn't need to be continued.

i know but it would be nice (and yes i buy stuff to help projects)

Sony have an online gaming system (e.g. SOCOM US Navy SEALS) that costs no monthly charge, although this is different.

maybe we could be agents (linux users) , hee hee

silentangelic

buzz. no. if you said that we, linux users, as agents. that wrong! that make us evil! I suggests that window developers as agents and we liberate those users from window to linux! harrah!

erm..

sorry just in my own fantasy world.

now i should go away now...

erm.. bye.

"F*** you, I use Debian!"

Matrix Revolutions had more plot in the first 5 minutes than Reloaded in it's entirety.

Equilibrium > Matrix > Matrix Revolutions > Matrix Reloaded

Moral of the story: Go rent Equilibrium. Made before the Matrix and utterly owns it.

From a technical aspect:

Would the Matrix (if it existed, and it may well be real and it's actually 2265 A.D. and my nutrition tube is partially blocked so I'm getting crazy dreams) as a distribution be considered Open Source or Closed Source. Since any agent is able to reprogram source code (but wait they're part of the program!). But it is freely distributable (again by the program). There are not any patents or patent office (is there?) But the humans are able to access the source (are they?) I'm confused-is it Open or Closed?

JoeyJoeJo
11-10-2003, 12:03 AM
I say closed because the "freed" people could use it, but not modify it. Also there is one head programmer, the Architect (sp?)

Icarus
11-10-2003, 12:49 AM
I thought of the Architect as a watchdog or Tripwire type of program, making sure everything runs as it should

Of course I'm I won't see this movie until it's on DVD...like I did with the last two ;)

equilibrium was a good movie but i think it came after matrix almost better if not better than matrix. much better than reloaded and revolutions

Well, at least it was a lot better than reloaded. :) At least there was some plot. :D

Yes definitely. The Lord of the Rings is one book published in three volumes (not a trilogy), so technically there aren't any sequels.
Now as long as they don't do anything like that Faramir messup, return of the king should be pretty good. :)

But in the making of the matrix they made one big comic book with everything from all of them, you could logically say that it is just three episodes of one book,
