Can't manage to change my wallpaper under blackbox

I tried installing qiv, xv, none worked. I did esetroot, bsetbg, bsetroot, none worked either. Tried them both under user and root. Any suggestions on how can I change my wallpaper?
Suddenly fluxbox is coming to my mind...

with bsetbg and qiv: qiv cannot load any images.
esetroot: command not found
bsetroot: it shows the following:

bsetroot 2.0: (c) 1997-2000 Brad Hughes

-display <string> display connection
-mod <x> <y> modula pattern
-foreground, -fg <color> modula foreground color
-background, -bg <color> modula background color

-gradient <texture> gradient texture
-from <color> gradient start color
-to <color> gradient end color

-solid <color> solid color

-help print this help text and exit

It shows the above stuff, but it does nothing, I tried bsetroot -bg /home/arturo/Pictures/ anime_one.jpg

But nothing happened either.

Where are you doing this? As a normal user in a terminal in X?

I'm doing it as a normal user in a terminal window (xterm), and yes I'm in X.

I tried Esetroot, but came back with the same error.

I don't know about bsetbg :(

I just use Esetroot, which is a part of Eterm.

I tried it on Eterm and it showed the followng:

# Esetroot /home/arturo/Pictures/ anime_one.jpg
Esetroot: Unable to load image file "/home/arturo/Pictures/" .

and if I do it like these:

# Esetroot /home/arturo/Pictures/anime_one.jpg
Esetroot: Unable to load image file "/home/arturo/Pictures/anime_one.jpg".

Do I have to configure something before this works?
