Ok...Newbie Question:
Since I own Quake 3 Arena for Windows, will I have to pay for a Linux version?

Nope. Make /usr/local/games/quake3/baseq3 and copy the pk3 files there, either from the cd or from a windows install. Then dowload the latest point release/binary for windows, and install that.

I'm not sure on this, but doesn't the point release (1.32 is the latest) have to be in .zip format? I'm pretty sure there's the windows one (.exe) and the 'other' one which is .zip. Anyway, have fun quakin' it up. Also slightly more complicated, but you can make a symbolic link to the pak0.pk3 file, which i think is the only one you need, on your windows partition w/
"ln -s /path_to_windows_partition/Program Files/Quake III Arena/baseq3/pak0.pk3" while in your linux baseq3 folder. Someone might want to verify. I rust. Quake Rules!!!
