I am hoping to set up a dual boot system. I have two hard drives one which I'd like to set up RedHat9 and the other for Windows 98. I have found quite a bit of information on the web and within the groups, but I want to find the best way to do it. Which operating system should be installed first? I'm not sure about formatting and partitioning either. I've read a lot of information that contradicts other info.
Thanks

Okay, I only know how to answer one of your questions, so here goes! You should install Windows, first. I've heard that it doesn't like to be put on second.
Good luck! I tried doing a dual boot, once, but... :(

i couldnt agree more. windows should go on the first drive. you might want to consider putting your linux swap at the end of the first drive, so that it is on a separate drive from the binaries on your linux install. put linux on the second drive, and for a simple setup use 2 separate partitions for / and /home so you can possibly fix your OS without losing user data
It would be easier to install Windows first.

Okay...when I installed windows last year I set up my two drives separately as C: 60gb and D: 15gb, both for windows, so if I repartition I should do that when reinstalling windows for only the 60gb drive leaving room for Linux to create its swap and leave the 15gb alone until installing Linux, so it can create its Linux partitions. Because it's windowsMe I don't have to worry about NTSF, correct? How large should each of the Linux partitions be for / and /home on the 15gb drive and should I create others? And if I create the swap at the end of the 60gb Windows drive how large should that be and how would I point Linux there on the install? Will I be able to save files on one system and see/access them from the other? Do I use Windows bootloader and skip Grub's install?
I appreciate your responses!!!
