Ok I got debian installed. Now I need to get x-window-system installed correctly. I already installed it once using "apt-get install x-window-system" and I also installed windowmaker using the same thing. But now I cant get X started because I put in the wrong configuration. Can I edit this with out installing X again or how do I uninstall X so I can do it again. I probly dont even need X but I feel its always something nice to have, this box is going to be a server anyways, I just want to figure out how to do more things.

This is my frist debian install also by the way, I feel special. :D

One more quick question then, if possible. How do I tell what driver and all the other stuff I use. All I can see about the video card is that its a Matrox.

all you need to tell X is that it uses the matrox driver.

but you can see all the configuration for X in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4
