apt-get question

I decide to update some debian packages to unstable.
So I change my source.list, and Include two unstable mirrors
then did "apt-get update"
result:

"USUAL MESSAGES" and at the end:
Reading Package Lists......Error!
E: Dynamic MMap ran out of room (twice)
E: Error ocurred while processing libgc6-dev
E: Problem with Merge List /var/lib/apthttp.us.debian.org/debian_dists_stable_
main_binary-i386_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened

So, I try apt-get -t unstable install mozilla

Gave me the same error as above. how can I go about it?

Im using debian running on a 2.4.18 kernel

are you running a mixed sources list e.g woody & sid? it also looks like you may be having a problem with libgc6-dev.
