RH 7.3 PCMCIA hang

Trying to install Red Hat 7.3 on a Sager 4020 laptop, I get to a screen labeled:
Welcome to Red Hat Linux

with a dialog box titled:
PC Card

and the message:
Initializing PC Card Devices...

There it stays. No way to get out of it except to power down.

You could try passing the

nopcmcia

option at the initial boot/install prompt as outlined in the Redhat boot option docs at

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/install-guide/ch-bootopts.html

and then configure pcmcia (if needed) when the installation has been completed.

Thanx-that got me into the install portion. We will see about reconfiguring the PCMCIA's, though I don't have any right now.
