how did you enter the setup? it doesn't seem like there are any error messages in there either, but how did you start the setup? did you boot off the cd and hit enter, or did you hit F1?

dsantamassino, is there anything unusual about your hardware?
For beginning try to disable PnP OS in BIOS.

I don't think there is anything unusual about my hardware. Oh that's a good thing that you ask me that. I just thought about it right now. Maybe it does not recognize my Monitor and video card. I have Compaq MV540 color monitor and Cirrus logic video card. I hit enter for setup. Maybe i have to configure my monitor and video card but i don't know how. Please reply back. Thanks guys.

so i'm assuming this is intergrated hardware?
http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/hardware.php3

that's the mandrake hardware database, and it'll tell you if you're hardware is supported or not, so i'd check that first. And like i asked before, how did you enter setup after booting off the cd?

one other thing i've noticed-
Intel MultiProcessor Specification on v1.4
Do you actually have dual processors, does your system have hyperthreading, or am i misinterpriting this?

I did not see my monitor in the hardware list. I have Compaq MV540 color monitor but usually it should be listed under MV500. Please reply back. Thanks.

oh sorry, i didn't see that. My mistake. OK so maybe since you tried it the standard way, maybe there's something we have to do modify the install. Of course i don't know what, but if you hit F1 it should give you some options for what type of install to do. Also, try disabling PnP bios as reccomended beforehand (if you didn't already and i misread that too!)

I tried F1 a couple of times. I don't know how to disable PnP and i don't know what to look for in the BIOS.

How can i take a snapshot of my BIOS then post it here so you could tell me how to disable it??

i'm not sure how you could get a screen shot of it, but if you know who makes your bios i could look it up for you in a pdf manual or something. do you have a motherboard instruction manual, that should say it in there. Or do you know what model board you have?
