Hello ppl !!
Im a new member of this forum and of the Linux world in general. However, I have fallen in love with Linux, the day I first operated it.
i'm planning to do the RHCT cpourse and then further go on to give the RHCE certification exam.
I would like to know if anyone out here knows how are the job prospects after giving the RHCE?

Moved to /dev/random.
Besides the replies from our JL members, may I suggest you try a JL /dev/random forum search (based on titles only) for RHCE as there have been quite a few threads posted on the subject and some may help to answer your questions.

Uhh, I'm hate being so ignorant, but I seriously didn't find any other RHCE threads. Anyways, Loking at the awesome responses (;-) that i got for this thread, i think i'll just close it here....
Pretty obviously newbies like me aren't too welcome on this site ( no hard feelings watsoever ), so, i guess i'll stick my local user group.
Bye dudes !!!

Don't get your feathers in a ruff -don't be too touchy or take anything too personally on these forums. I'm glad to see your enthusiasm for Linux -I love it too.
RHCE is a decent certification and fairly respected in the industry from what I hear. LPI is also proported to be a great certification for Linux and a lot less pricy than RHCE -though it might be a boost to the ego to claim the title "Engineer." I just have the lowly Comptia (http://www.comptia.org) Linux+ which can be obtained with minimal experience and a little study.
You can also get a great free online Linux course at www.linux.org -not meaning to send you away from here at JL, but www.techimo.com has a forum section dedicated to certification and education in all things computer.
Good luck in your Linux educational persuits.
Check out http://www.europe.redhat.com/training/ for the redhat training program or the linux professional institute for a more general distro non-specific training http://www.lpi.org/
Jme.

So just because the members that happened to read your question did not know anything (like me) or have any comments on RHCE, you are quick to judge us based entirely on that assumption?
Here are the JL /dev/random forum search results for 'rhce' (http://justlinux.com/forum/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=760588&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) of which you can see there are many of them.

Glad to see you checked back. In answer to the second part of your question: YES, Linux certification can be a great asset when job hunting if used to augment other skills, education, and certifications. I don't think Linux certification by itself would open too many doors for you.

Why me?
All I know about RHCE is that it stands for Redhat Certified Engineer (right?) and that it involves a lot of studying and exams.
Did those search results I posted help at all?
