this window manager is freaking great!! If you have ever tried:

sawfish
waimea
fluxbox
blackbox

Or anything remotely related to these, try this window manager out. It combines a lot of th best features of all of them, including EASY configuration files with quite a bit of power behind them.

I think I might try that out tonight when I get home. Looks nice and clean - although it will take a lot to get me away from my beloved blackbox

So frigging true...

Tabs
Flexible themes
Almost all features of Fluxbox dev and a lot lighter then it
Doesnt gets in the way like Fluxbox dev sometimes does.
Not buggy for a change.
Has some AWESOME themes out there..

Its everything that Fluxbox dev is trying to be, and yet is a lot lighter and cleaner.. not to mention bug free!

I have tried:
Kde, Gnome, Fluxbox, Blackbox, windowmaker, FLWM, Waimea, Kahakai, and icewm.

None of which came close...

I got interested in Pekwm after I saw your screenshot in the screenshot thread a couple of days back!

I liked it so much that I actully removed fluxbox dev :p

That's great :)

I used to use Fluxbox too...

Comparing PekWM with others WM: It's very themeable, and it has the most important features the others have.

Ive been trying pekwm out in xnest, but I've been having a bit of trouble with window focusing...

For instance, when I open up two aterms, only the newer one is focused, and I cant use the elder of the two

my window focus model is
true : click
false : new, enter, leave

Im honestly stumped....I'm using the cvs version for 12/11/03, do you think it's a bug in the cvs?

Edit --

Well, Ive looked through more documentation, that I managed to convienently find after I posted (just my luck!)

If anyone else has this issue, set one of your mouse functions to focus the window :)

Damn you people always showing me cool new stuff that I have to try out. Guess I may be ditching fluxbox for this one. :D

it (PekWM) can't handle 7-button mice on its own, and it interferes with imwheel so.... it is useless for me. IMHO, as well, tabs are a waste of code - all apps that you would ever need tabs in already have them in the app or the same effect can be accomplished using virtual desktops. tabs do _not_ belong in windows, they belong in apps. however, i do agree that it is less evil than fluxbox (crashbox).

Im not very impressed about how it comes configured, Ive spent quite some time reworking the config files just so that it'll work smoother.

Each to his own, I personally like the ability to easily group apps together and switch between them easily without an annoying toolbar like kde, gnome, windows etc. But I guess it is whatever you prefer
