I'm building yet another PC and, once again, thought about putting Linux in it, but why??
What's the point of using Linux, really? It seems like reinventing the wheel. All the good GNU apps have been ported to Windows. XP is rock-solid stable. Yes, I blame the users for not downloading the lastest patches. Linux doesn't do anything better than Windows XP in my opinion.
Once my wife and I were working on a project when the power went out. She was using a Win98 machine and I was using the Linux box. When the power came back, she booted up her PC, ran scandisk, and resumed working. While I was still doing this mount logical drive nonsense, she was shutting down the PC for the evening.
Linux is counterproductive. It's a hobbyist's OS for people with a lot of time in their hands.
