I have recently put Freebsd 4.8 on an old p133 box.

I am getting these two error messages

"dhclient: sent packet : address family not supported by protocal"

I do recieve an ip address and everything works fine, why would I be recieveing this message?

-----------------------------------------------------

and when I use the comand locate I also get

"locate: datebase too small /var/db/locate.databse"

I'm guessing this is because I made /var partition too small.

I'm not sure about the other one, but the database too small error is because you haven't created your locate database.

as root, try running /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb . Once that finishes, you should be able to use locate just fine.

is the dhcpclient possibly enabled for ipv6 or not, and your isp is using or not
