Hi,
I am having a problem with IPCop. I have installed version 1.3 on a P200 with 96 megs ram and a 4 gig hard drive. There are three nics in it, a green, orange, and red (lan, DMZ, wan) the install went fine Everything boots fine and runs fine. I can access the computer from the keyboard in terminal mode. I can sign in as root and setup fine from the keyboard.
When I go to use the web admin at http://192.168.1.1:81 or https://192.168.1.1:445 I get the errors below. I have tried from both a windows comp. and a linux comp. I know I have the correct password because I can sign in from the box itself. I have also used clarkconnect and been able to sign in on https://192.168.1.1:81 in the same way with no problems. (I want to set up a server so I need the DMZ that comes with ipcop)
In the past I have used nano to edit files from the console, ipcop (and slackware) don’t seem to have nano installed, is there another simple text editor that these versions of linux would come with. I’m sure when I find out what the problem is I will need to edit a file from console.
Any insight as to where I should look to fix this problem will be appreciated.
Here are the two errors I get
Windows 2000 error with IE6
“Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn’t understand how to supply the credentials required.”
Slackware 9 error with konqueror
“Authentication failed Do you want to try again”
you get the same errors when you use the wrong password. (im sure I am using the correct one ive tried it enough and changed it from the ipcop box, I even tried to reinstall ipcop)
thanks again
Gary
p.s. i believe ipcop is bassed on smoothwall with is bassed on RH 7.2... i think
