Hi guys, me again. Lately I've been reading a lot on the hype of xml. But they all stress how it's a plain text file, any browser can read it, blah blah blah. But if that is so, then isn't XML unsuitable for items with higher sensitivity? How does one prevent people from downling full XML files for their own viewing pleasure? It's not parsed like php files after all.
And since they mention how it stores data, this question has also been brought into mind: is it an alternative to MySQL (assuming the answer to my first question is "it's safe because of x y and z")?
Maybe I'm getting this whole thing all wrong. If I am please correct me. Thanks for your input.
Edit: also is there a site that shows the schematics of an XML "query?" All google searches point me to examples where they show an xml file and how it would look like in a browser. They all never seem to show what goes on in between.
