I feel for you.... Ha! Is this the first time that you've loaded RedHat9 on this system? If so, read on.... I spent a few days myself trying to figure out why my Linksys NIC wouldn't activate. :) The primary reason turned out to be something other than a device driver, which turns out that RedHat9 uses tulip which ships within the distribution, so the driver is there. I bet if you check, RedHat9 sees your card, but the system hasn't assigned any system resources to support it. In other words, there is no IRQ assigned, no I/O address, etc. If this is the case, you need to get back into BIOS and shut off or disable Plug-and-Play. Your system needs to manage the IRQ's, memory I/O, DMA's and the like. Once you do this you should be able to verify within RedHat9 that the NIC now has resources allocated and can be activated. Check it out and let me know how it turns out.... It worked for me.....good luck!
