hm... hi. my internet connection share doesn't work for window2000 advanced client.

computer#1: red hat linux 9.0/windows2000 advanced server
computer#2: windows 2000 advanced server

# now I used (comp#1)red hat linux server share connection to computer #2 and works.

# but it works when i use (comp#1)windows2000 share connection to computer#2.

computer#1 red hat linux and windows2000 tcp/ip setting are same:
ip address:192.168.0.2
netmass :255.255.255.0
gateway :192.168.0.1

Pri DNS :216.194.28.33 (ISP dns)
Sec DNS :216.194.28.69 (ISP dns)

here i set up tcp/ip configuration in computer#2
ip address:192.168.0.2
netmass :255.255.255.0
gateway :192.168.0.1

Pri DNS :216.194.28.33 (ISP dns)
Sec DNS :216.194.28.69 (ISP dns)

a month ago, all setting are fine and red hat linux(comp#1) and windows2000(comp#1) can share connection to computer#2.
but i change the setting many times in computer#2 and feel messy up its configuration. but i change back to previous setting.

i use tracert command in computer#2
c:\>tracert www.yahoo.com
can't resolve the target .............................

then i racert 192.168.0.1
it shows some result and seem fine.
i can ping 192.168.0.1 and comp1 and comp2 are connected, which is fine.

the problem is why comp#2 can't go outside of the internet when i use window2000 in computer#1???
-.-

ok either thats a typo or your using the same ip on both machines????

ok first off, are you setting the gateway ip as the IP address of the computer physically connected to the net, if not, u gotta do that

secondly, u cant assign the sdame ip to both machines, make sure that one is 192.168.0.1 and the other is 192.168.0.2

personally, i set the ip of my gateway to 192.168.0.1, then setup all the clients which are connected to the internet to set the gateway ip as the ip address 192.168.0.1
