Hi,
I have an old quad pentium pro 200mhz server that i recieved and now putting together. Im going to use this as a test server. Im wondering if (and assuming it will) linux supports the these 4 cpu? and if yes what distro of linux will best suit me for mulitple cpu support and utilization?

Thanks,
Erik

The Linux kernel has just about support multiple processors since day one and most of the distro enable SMP by default.

Visit each of the distros websites for those that you are considering and check your hardware against their HCL (hardware compatibility list) to see which is best suited.

You could try Gentoo and build a custom kernel during installation that supports the quad processors. SuSE would be another good choice.
