on the gentoo forums (http://forums.gentoo.org) i searchd for: dell ati radeon - there were a ton of hits.

/me thinks that Hayl will beat him up....

But i never did find out what version of X you were using, and what the results of using the ati or radeon driver.

or even what errors you have for that matter....

hes running Xfree 4.3

I didn't get the errors either.
