I have a Linksys Wireless USB network adapter (WUSB11 ver. 2.5) and I am running mandrake 9.1. I am using the wlan-ng drivers and I have managed to get the light to come on that signals that the adapter is linked, but Mandrake doesn't seem to realize that it can connect through that to the internet. If I open up Firebird and go to google it does the normal host not found that you would expect if you weren't connected to the internet.

How do I get Mandrake to recognize the adapter? I've run through the README file include with the driver a dozen times and I can't figure it out.

Thanks for the help,
Kyle

I don't know if these might help you out but I did a couple google searches and I got a lot of hits.

http://www.jennings.homelinux.net/atmel.html

Try doing a search on this same website if those don't help. I'm sure your not the only person that ever had this problem. Since I don't know anything about this I personally can't give you any advice. But try those links and see what happens.
Also try: www.fuw.edu.pl/~pliszka/hints/wireless.html And near the bottom of the page there's a section called:

"802.11b USB devices under Linux and some general hints for linux-wlan driver(useful also for non-USB devices)" That talks a bit about your adapter.

Went by the tutorial on the last site and did the following with this error:

root@localhost linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre9]# ifup wlan0
Determining IP information for wlan0...SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device

Any ideas?
