detecting modem

i have redhat 9.0.
i have a "Intel(R)537 data fax voice v.90 modem"
redhat did not detect it.

what should i do to detect it and the steps to follow to configure?

Does Red Hat have a modem config tool? Use that, or otherwise see if you can go about configuring your modem with kppp or wvdial.
