I didnt disable PNP in my bios and LInux works perfectly.
If you have hardware that linux supports then it will work. If its not it wont.

Well, but you know.. sometimes you have to turn of the PNP, and it magically works :p

I assume you tried without turning off PNP in your bios. Any errors, something?

kernel panic happened.

and the installation has been cancelled.

Your plug and play settings should be under you PNP/PCI configurations in your BIOS settings or something similar if this does not work check the HCL(hardware compatibility list at the distros website.

Some BIOSes don't have the option to turn off PNP, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be able to install.

Some specifics would help though:

1. What distro and version of Linux are you installing?
2. Give us your complete system specs.

Have you had a look through your asrock motherboard manual or visited their website and found a online version of the manual?

Search www.google.com/linux for 'asrock k7s8x' and see what you can find.

Where in the installation and what was the full kernel panic message?
