Let me first start this off by saying I don't want to start a flame war over which distribution everybody likes better. Rather I would like some honest advice on a distribution that will meet my needs best.
I want to use Linux w/ KDE as a desktop computer and have tried out two distributions over the past months. First I started with Redhat 8.0 and got annoyed with quirks I couldn't solve. I tried Redhat 9 but it would not install on my system. Then came Mandrake 9.1 and this was a big improvement over RH but still little bugs and quirks are annoying me. For example, my digital camera used to work but no longer does (even after a clean re-installation), audio CD's won't play, networking with my w2k box is a pain, etc., etc.
I want an easy to use distro that will allow me to use as many GUI tools as possible to do things but will still give me the opportunity to explore the more advanced features in most Linux distros.
I've been considering Lindows. Can anyone give me some advice about Lindows or another distro that will suit my needs? I'm not afraid to pay for the distro but if I do I don't want it to be half-baked (and Mandrake seems this way sometimes).
Thanks,
