At the first install boot prompt, add
nofirewire
and see if that works.

I tried adding nofirewire and, unfortunately, it didn't work. I found an answer to my question(i think) on Mandrake Expert, but it is in french, if someone could even possible traslate that, it might work. The website is http://www.mandrakeexpert.com/showarchive.php?arc=67151
-Thanks

Something about using Expert Mode installation and adding 'noauto'.
I'll post this again.
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/install-guide/ch-bootopts.html
They should work for any distro.

I don't know if the previous answer will work because i can not get expert mode to load. At the boot prompt, i type expert, just like it says to do, and it gets stuck just before the install program is supposed to be "loaded to memory" how do i get the expert mode to load correctly, am i supposed to use a different cd?

See if there are any bios options you can change/enable/disable such as firewire. That might help.
Disable power management is another to try.
Or just pick text mode and enter 'noauto'.

Sounds like you have a setup there with RAM >= 1GB?
If so, this may be a known bug in Mandrake 9.x install kernel that bites you.
When you have the screen telling you to hit Enter or F1 to install, hit F1 and enter the following (without the quotes) "linux vga=0"
That should get your install going, and make sure you then use the 'enterprise' kernel when restarting your box.
Cheers :)
