Hi
When i try to install Mandrake 9.1 from CD, i first get to the first screen, where it says Press enter to instal linux. So i press enter, and my screen turns black, and my Caps lock and Scroll lock lights goes on and off for ever.
Anyone knows what's wrong?

Could be bad media. Did you download or buy your copy of Mandrake?
List your system specifications. Knowing what hardware you are trying to install it on would help. I wouldn't try and run MD9.1 on a p166 with 32 megs of ram.

Try installing in text mode. Some distros will not work in graphic mode w/ Nvidia cards during installation.

After you finish installing in text mode and reboot, you'll be back in a graphical mode. Which video card are you using? (Make, model #) If it is a newer nvidia card not listed when you come to the xfree/graphics card setup, you may have to choose generic nvidia (nv driver) until you can configure it later. That may be true for ATI also.

Ok, now i have serious problems!
I installed as you said the text version, but now it's done and i don't know what to do
I log on, and it says something like anders@localuser
And i am supposed to type something. If i restart it just goes through alot of things (green ok's and 2 red failed). And if i try to install again, it wont work (once again, black screen and blinking caps lock).
The 2 things that fail are something with local user. and it's at the end of the list.
Please help...

When you get to text mode, type:
startx
If that doesn't work, type:
xf86config
then try startx again.

I've had the same problem and here is what worked for me :
On boot, type "vgalo" (not sure about the spelling : check the boot options) and then enter to install in graphical mode, but in low resolution.
It should work.
