Got a new laptop which doesnt come with a floppy drive. how would i go about uninstall RH/freebsd to put windows back on (assuming I did).

put windows cd in cd-rom drive. format all partitions, install iwndows.

hmmm ... could've sworn i tried that before, but i remember being greeted with "LILO" after i rebooted machine after installing windows

use windows cd to boot into msdos

fdisk /mbr

Or before removing the Linux partitions, boot into Linux and run

/sbin/lilo -u

to uninstall Lilo from the mbr and then delete the Linux partitions.

ah. okies. You might also want to look in your bios for the which is picked to boot first, and throw cdrom as the first pick.
