it really does work, in kde its an app called ksmoothdock, or u can also use karamba. I dont know if there's something like that for gnome, but i heard about something called gdesklets (kind of a karamba thing for gnome)

does anyone konw if gnome has those apple thing..
man... i dont konw what it is called...
it's a menu button but when you point ur mouse over the icon it kinda pops out.. u know...
i heard kde has it...

yes. aspeekaboo posted a link to it in the Screenshots thread - three posts above your post in there asking the exact same question on page 168. It is called gdesklets.

i think the kde version you are talking about it called ksmoothdock.

well - people gave you the answer in this thread and your other other one so i don't understand why you don't know. you need to use gdesklets - which you will most likely have to compile from source. OR as I said earlier, you can set up a transparent gnome-panel and set the icons to enlarge when you hover on them.

install gdesklets - read the docs on the gdesklets site.
actually i just looked and gnome-panel can't. i was wrong. i think i was thinking of kicker in KDE.
so your only option is to compile and install gdesklets.
if you have any other questions on this pelase create a new post. this thread is for screenshots.
