IceWM installation problems and now X won't start!

Hello everyone, I wanted to use IceWM as a WM since KDE was being a slow RAM sucker so I got it and compiled and installed it. Now I want to run it but when I try to it says something like this "X must be running and $DISPLAY must be set" I tried to set $DISPLAY to :0 or :0 icewm but now when I type startx it says "bash: command not found" or something like that. PLEASE HELP. your help would be greatly appreciated.

ok nevermind about the problem above. startx works but kde still doesn't.
It says something like kdeinit not working and then stops X. I fullly uninstalled and fully reinstalled kde. I'll tell you the full text of what it said later since I'm not at my pc right now.
