Scenario:

I'd like to shell out some cash for a PDA from Dell or HP.

I'd also like to run Linux on it.

Yes, the Sharp Zarus would be good, but, the hardware being supplied with the new Dell's and HPs is sweet.
Unfortunately the software being supplied with them is not.

Is there some sort of bootable media for these sorts of PDA's and if so.... could someone hack a Linux install onto one?

I'm thinking no, but, I'm equally open to correction on this one.

Got a tip for ya: DO NOT take your device off the cradle when flashing the ROM. I didn't make that mistake but I heard its bad. You should try out GPE. I use it and it's pretty cool. I thought Opie wasn't that cool, but it was more like what you would see on a Zaurus.

Heyyyyy...cool. Would this run on my Toshiba e740 I wonder? I've never done much with it because it is a piece of CRAP ...but I wonder if I could put Linux on it.

I know what I'm doing all day tomorrow. :p

Neat!

Can it run applications made for the zaurus?

I dont belive it can be done because of the low rez(160-160) screen. However the sony clie NX series have 320-480 screens.....

Will farmiliar work with the dell axim?
