I've also skipped idesk and am currently trying out gDesklets (http://www.pycage.de/software_gdesklets.html) which works/looks a bit like the OSX bar and you can use it in Gnome2 but it also works in Fluxbox! :)

How did you remove the taskbar in fluxbox?

it's a setting in the ~/.fluxbox/init file

(can't remember what one - it's been a long time since i used flux. when you look in the file, it will be obvious what line it is)

I have looked through the ~/.fluxbox/init and can find nothing.

I tried the toolbar.width and setting it to 0% but it uses the default value of 66%.

i looked on their site quickly and didn't see anything either.

i know it's possible.

Ive read somewhere on the fluxbox.org forum that only the 0.91 (im using 0.1.14) and above version have this feature.

session.screen0.toolbar.mode: off
