Sorry for the n00b question but how do you make menus, shells, etc. transparent? I searched around in my KDE options and couldn't find anything. FYI, I'm running Mandrake 9.1. Thanks.

Its not possible, as far as i know, to make the toolbar in KDE transparent. However the startmenu can be made to look transparent, by using alpha blending. But not the actual toolbar. Konsole can be made transparent, just open up konsole and see the options in the menu. Most people use Eterm as there console. So do "man Eterm" (capital 'E' :D, most people get stuck here, like me :D:D) and try some of the options out. serz 08-09-2003, 02:07 PM In Konsole is pretty easy, you have to look at the menus. Again, what terminal do you want to make it transparent? aterm, Eterm maybe? hop-frog 08-09-2003, 05:35 PM For transparency in KDE menus, run the Control Center and go to 'Look & Feel' ==> Style ==> Effects. For transparency in the terminal window, open konsole and go to Settings ==> Schema ==> 'Transparent Konsole'. justlinux.com
