Gnome problems

ok, so i installed wine, and then trillian. then i made a link on the desktop, that would run trillian. but now, whenever i click on other icons, it tries to open the application with trillian, does anybody know how to fix this?

is this Gnome or KDE?

how did you create the trillian icon?

it is gnome, and i made the icon by right clicking, and selecting "new launcher", i think it didnt work the first time, so i right clicked on the icon and went to "open with" and entered in the command there.

Heh, you set Gnome to open all the icons with Trillian instead of launching them :D

I don't know where this gets stored, but I'm sure it's somewhere in ~/.gnome, maybe under MIME settings?

ok, thanks, i found the lines in /.gnome/application-info/user.applications
just deleted them and now it works, thanks for the help!
