And now i add yet another chapter to my journey of trying to get my Linux partition online.

I have Mandrake 9.1 with KDE

Ok i have my cable modem set connected to my onboard ethernet port and its working on XP now i have no idea how to get it working on linux. I tried using the wizard on the networking settings but it doesnt detect anything.

Can any1 help?

I'm sure someone can come and answer your question exactly, but have you tried a forum search using the terms "cable modem"?

Also, what type of ethernet card do you have? It could be that the system isn't loading the proper driver for the card, or no driver exists.

This is a popular subject to post about, so I'm sure you could find something via a search.

If you truley can't find ANYTHING (which you should, there have to be posts about the same thing- i probably even had some) i'll try and help, i've used mdk9.1 a good amount.
