Hi, I'm quite a newbie at Linux and having a problem with my modem. I have a Conexant HSF modem and when I run 'make install' the machine tells me that he can't find build in map kernel...? when I go to that map (/lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/) I'm finding that file but the file is 0byte big and when I opening the file he only says 'thefile doesn't seams to exist' and what is that for kind of replie? so anyone who knows what to do? If you could help me I would start to pray to you :) and again thanks....

Here's a useful site which has a section on Conexant:
Conexant (http://digilander.libero.it/winehqitalia/drivers.html)
And did you run "HCFCONFIG" or HSFConfig"?

Is that the exact error message and it tells you to look in /lib/modules/2.4.20/kernel/?
Is it System.map?

Doesn't look like the kernel sources/headers are set up right or are corrupt. What distro are you using? Most have a symlink /lib/modules/<version>/build whose target is /usr/src/linux-<version>
