I just installed Redhar 8.0 about two weeks now. I changed themes before and now I can't. I tiried adding new themes I downloaded and it's saying it can't find the .themerc file. I tried with a couple of them and still same problem. I checked the files extracted and it's there. When I try changing themes from theme manager, it's telling the same prob. about the .themerc file. I have no idea whatw ent wrong, I did all the updates and I'm lost. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem??

$ su
# slocate -u
or
# updatedb
# locate .themerc
The easiest fix is to create a new user, logout, login as the new user, using KDE. Then su, and copy .themerc to the old user home directory. You'll figure it out. :)
P.S don't foget to chown olduser:users /home/olduser/.themerc
