I successfully installed the popular dock app

wmCalClock (http://nis-www.lanl.gov/~mgh/WindowMaker/DockApps.shtml)

and it runs now nicely. However, now I'd like to drag it into my Windowmaker dock, but it doesn't wanna move a single millimeter while other icons can be dragged and dropped without any problem.

I'm running SuSE 8.2 with WindowManager.

You mean windowmaker? ;)

Yeah, the trick with those is that you have to click and hold on the border around the dockapp, not on the dockapp itself.

Thanks a lot, now I got it working the way I want. :) Hmmm, it would be cool if the WindowMaker manual were a bit more extensive...

Hehe.

I find WM pretty intuitive- haven't read the manual once (to tell you the truth I didn't know there was one! :p) and have got it working to my liking.

I agree with you, WM indeed is very intuitive. However, I think my problem with the dock app wasn't. Why should you suddenly have to click exactly on the border of an icon when you can just click anywhere for the rest of them?

By the way, here's the official (but very short) user guide (http://www.windowmaker.org/documentation-userguide.html).

Here's an unofficial but very good guided tour (http://main.linuxfocus.org/~georges.t/). Unfortunately, the author doesn't maintain it anymore, but anybody who feels like it is welcome to contribute to it.
