I downloaded a sega genesis emulator called dgen. After compiling and such, I downloaded the rom responsible for my desire to have genesis... Sonic! Well, it was very, very slow. I read through the readme and there were help suggestions for slow operations. None of them worked. There is a directory in home called .dgen. Within it lies a file called dgenrc. It is supposed to be a config file, but it isn't copied correctly into the directory. This is the cause of all the problems. If you go into the emulator's directory, there is a file called 'sample.dgenrc.' It is a copy of the config file. Copy it into the .dgen directory and rename it to the proper name and you're done. The emulator shall work now.
