Thinks for efforts in making the rpms !! :) I have a question for u though which I hope you'll answer: is it ok to just use the fasttrack rpm on a pre installed (compiled) giFT with KDEgiFT client ? and if yes how do you configure it ? because I"ve installed the rpm and cant setup the protocol. thanks again man and hope to hear from u soon serz 07-15-2003, 07:19 PM Originally posted by genuine143 how do you configure it ? because I"ve installed the rpm and cant setup the protocol. Run "giFT-setup" to configure it first (this takes a time...) and then run giFT. http://gift.sourceforge.net/docs.php?document=install.html genuine143 08-29-2003, 10:27 AM Hello .. I tried the rpms which gave an erorr saying conflicts were detected: Perl (Data::Dumper) needed by giFT-o.11.4 Perl (strict) needed by giFT-o.11.4 Can sombody please help ? cheerz pickarooney 12-28-2003, 02:26 PM *bump* : same dependency problem. What version of perl or other package is needed? je_fro 12-28-2003, 03:10 PM jefro $ perl --version This is perl, v5.8.0 built for i686-linux pickarooney 12-28-2003, 05:34 PM I get : This is perl, v5.8.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi AFAIK it's the version supplied with Mandrake 9.1. Stupid installation errors not giving more ofa hint why there's a dependency problem :( je_fro 12-28-2003, 05:52 PM There seems to be a problem with "datadumper". I know that's a perl thing...I had to fix it on gentoo. I'm using www.google.com/linux to try and find an answer... je_fro 12-28-2003, 05:54 PM http://www.quantumlinux.com/rpmpan/HTML.html I found perl-HTML-Index-0.15-8.noarch.rpm there...maybe that'll help? pickarooney 12-28-2003, 06:11 PM Cheers. I installed with --nodeps option and it's all going fine now :) I still have to figure out how to setup Fasttrack, I need some kind of a dummy fasttrack.conf file to put in the ~/.gift/FastTrack directoy I think. boson245 01-02-2004, 06:06 PM I had trouble setting up fasttrack too through gift-setup. However, after I opened up my front end, I'm using apollon, you can configure it through the menu option. pickarooney 01-04-2004, 02:39 PM Yep, works through Apollon. It also worked when I uninstalled and reinstalled the FastTrack rpm, it needed to be installed after giFT was set up for the conf files to be copied over. justlinux.com
